WKYT: Fayette Co. PVA working Friday despite furlough
Friday is the first of six furlough days state employees have to take. Thursday a judge denied a challenge filed by corrections officers and social workers to that plan. One area PVA will keep his office open, doing the work of 25 employees. more

Awards over the summer
Over the summer, I and the Fayette County PVA office were honored with two distinguished awards: first, I was humbled to received the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation's Public Service to Preservation Award in June; then, later that month, I was honored to accept the Outstanding Assessment Jurisdiction Award on behalf of the Fayette County PVA office and staff.

Selling cars will help the Fayette County property valuation administrator buy technology to determine property values without on-site visits. PVA David O'Neill announced Thursday he was selling four more office cars. One already had been sold. Sale proceeds will be used to help pay for mapping technology and aerial photography to complete property research used to determine home values. Property values affect tax bill amounts. more
